About project
Small water power plant Bogatići Nova is located in the municipality of Trnovo in the south-east of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was built in 1947. The project includes the reconstruction of the diversion-type electric power station with the new installed power of 10 MW located at the River Željeznica. The water intake and the dam are located at the altitude of 720 meters above the sea level. The length of the water supply tunnel from the dam to the surge tank measures approximately 2 km. The increase of the installed flow is ensured by installing an additional pressure pipe, which is 680 meters long and leads from the surge tank to the engine room, and by installing new hydro mechanical equipment in the engine room. The new engine room hosts two generators with water pumps and control equipment and switchgear while power transformers are located outside the building. The power plant has two vertical Francis turbines with guide vanes control. Each generator can generate 5.52 MW of power.
